GILI ISLANDS

Sandbar, Oldmans, Luigis, Shishi, la favela, and many others are the names of the clubs that exist in Canggu Area. They are great and you have a lot of fun, but if I am being honest, I was a bit tired of it. I was in Bali and I felt like I was going out more than visiting or discovering.  Thats why, on the 3 week of my tri p I decided to go to Gili Island with Gladys and Manu. The  perfect combination to have fun with the best com pany. We stayed in Gili Trawangan as our base, a  party island although we saw none cause we were not in that mood. I already had enough in Canggu.  To go there we created a whatsa p p grou p for anyone else to join. And they did, she was arabic and her name was Dee, very beautiful and funny women. And then there was Jeremy, who I dont remember anything about.  He had a room for him shared with Manu and not one night did he slee p there. We never knew were he was or was going. It was weird.  We s pent one whole day in Gili Nemo, w...

My spanish friends in BALI

Week 2 already in Bali. I only had 18 more days in the country to discover it and enjoy it at its fullest. My flight back was the 23th of November.  So, at that  point I decided to download Bumble, as I said before, a great a p p to connect with  peo ple that arent trying to make out with you. I  had tons of matches, but I only met with one of them. A s panish girl named Laura, working in Switzerland as Consutant Marketing, and OH MY GOD, the salary she had, was just crazy. No doubt she didnt mind s pending so much money haha.  The thing is, I met her at the famous and never to go again: FINNS CLUB. This is like the  place where all the lonely wanna be go to feel rich for once in their lifes. It is full of  peo ple that are in bali for a one week vacation and want to get com pletely wasted and invite everyone ho ping they will get laid at some  point. There is this huge swimming  pool filled with alcohol (of course, drunk  peo ple s pill...

How to make friends

Good question.  Considering that I was with my family, it was hard to meet  peo ple. So I started using other sources of contacts. Firstly, you can use Facebook, where you can find grou ps of travellers all waiting to make new friends.  I never used that.  Also, I was introduced to a whatsa p p grou p by my french friends, where there was nomads from everywhere in the world, and they used to  post some  plans to do or gatherings to meet  peo ple. The name was Bali Babes. That was too uncomfortable to me, so I never did it. But thats just me.  On the other hand, I used Bumble. An a p p that matches  peo ple de pending on location and interests. Is quite good to make friends.  Now, let me ex plain a bit how my circle of friends started.  It was the first wednesday I was in Bali, and there was this  post in the nomads whatsa p p grou p. A weekend in Nusa  penida. This is a very small island in the south of Bali, where m...

"A bad day in Bali is still better than a good day anywhere else"

"A bad day in Bali is still better than a good day anywhere else" That was the first grafitti I saw when I was on my way to my uncles home, at 1 in the morning. TWENTY hours of flight, I was so tired I could already feel the jetlag hiting me.  For those who have been in Bali, I was staying in Canggu Area, Berawa. A very nice and confortable neighborhood. The best thing about the location is that is only ten minutes from the  parties and the center, yet you never have to  put u p with them.  Bali Belly:  essentially an upset stomach or travellers' diarrhoea.  Thats what ha p p ened right after my arrival. For 2 days I could not move from home having this horrible feeling in the stomach. Didn`t bother me much though, cause I had a big garden and swimming  p ool, and of course, my family. Too much to talk about.  But hold on, not everything is that bad.  I met 2 french sisters that same weekend, who were raised in Bali and just came back t...
